About Local 130
Elevator constructors formed the Union of Elevator Constructors in the United States in 1901. In 1903, Canadian elevator workers joined what became the International Union of Elevator Constructors. Local 130 is a member of this international union.
Most elevator constructors in Alberta belong to the International Union of Elevator Constructors. The Canadian Elevator Industry Educational Program offers the only training program that is recognized by the Alberta government.
