About Local 1325

United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 1325 is a member of the Alberta Regional Council of Carpenters and Allied Workers (ARCAAW). ARCAAW has 13,000 members and represents carpenters, scaffolders, millwrights, roofers, ISM mechanics, drywallers, and floor layers in Alberta. Internationally, Local 1325 is affiliated to the international United Brotherhood of Carpenters, which has more than 550,000 skilled workers in Canada and the United States.

Local 1325 Training

Alberta Carpenters invests more than $3 million in training in Alberta each year. Its $23 million Provincial Training & Administration Centre is located in Edmonton and includes the Alberta Carpenters Training Centre and the Alberta Millwright Training Centre. The geothermal heated and cooled facility boasts more than 30,000 square feet and provides industry-leading training to carpenters, scaffold erectors, and millwrights. The trainers themselves take train-the-trainer courses at the International Training Centre in Las Vegas.

Local 1325 is the construction local in the Northern Alberta jurisdiction, including Edmonton, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray, and surrounding areas. Members do not pay for training, which is also offered by approved providers in many local communities in the province.
