Job action is illegal. No Affiliate Union associated with the Building Trades is in a legal position to strike or take any improper job action which includes “en mass” sick call ins, quits or withholding work in any way that is performed in the normal course.

We understand that the urging of job action may be related to ongoing negotiations. Do not be persuaded by rumours or innuendo. Get your information from your Local and do not engage in any improper job action.

The BTA is a proud Union organization. For over 50 years our members have built Alberta with the highest standards of safety and productivity under the terms of the Collective Agreements with our fair Contractors. We need to live up to our word, which is to be at work when we are required to be there. Our fair contractors and the owners who have stuck with us, deserve no less!
