Charitable Foundation Announcement

The Building Trades of Alberta Charity Foundation is excited to be hosting the John Tackaberry Memorial Golf Tournament on Thursday, June 22 at The Quarry. Registrations and breakfast will be held at 7:00am and golfing will start at 8:30am.

This charity tournament is held to honour the legacy of John Tackaberry. John was a journeyman red seal glazier by trade. He was business manager of the IUPAT Local 177, which he’d been a member of for 30 years. He also served as the Director of the BTA Charitable Foundation and chairman of the Building Trades of Alberta.

Since 2015, this annual memorial tournament has raised more than $820,000.00 for organizations focused on helping those in need including Canadian Diabetes Association, the Edmonton Public Library School Foundation, Make-a-wish Foundation, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Fresh Start Recovery, and the Job Safety Skills Society, to name just a few. This year, thanks to the support of our sponsors and tournament participants, the BTA Charitable Foundation will be donating $300,000.00 to the Stollery Children’s Hospital for mental health services. We in BTA understand the necessity of quality mental healthcare, and that’s why we’re proud to support the Stollery’s great work in this area.

All funds raised have come from donations raised by the entire industry. We would like to thank you all for your support.
