The Building Trades of Alberta is pleased to announce its Executive Director, Terry Parker, has accepted an offer from the provincial government to sit as a member of the Skills for Jobs Task Force through the Ministry of Advanced Education.
“I welcome the opportunity to provide input and advice to the Skills for Jobs Task Force from the perspective of more than 60,000 unionized skilled tradespersons in 18 local unions the Building Trades of Alberta proudly represents.
“There is a great need for apprenticeship-based learning in Alberta and we, along with our affiliates, have been heavily involved in exposing skilled-trades careers to students around the province and in training the next wave of workers who will help fill tomorrow’s skilled-trades jobs.
“I’m looking forward to working with the province to boost the value of a career in the skilled trades to students and youth across Alberta,” said Parker.
