BTA MEDIA RELEASE: John Tackaberry Memorial Golf Tournament tomorrow
EDMONTON – The fifth-annual John Tackaberry Memorial Golf Tournament, which has raised more than $500,000 for Alberta-based charities and organizations since it began, starts tomorrow morning at The Quarry Golf Course in northeast Edmonton.
Media are invited to attend the tournament at The Quarry, 945 167 Ave NE, which begins at 8 a.m. on Aug. 23.
“The John Tackaberry Memorial Golf Tournament is a major contributor to the Building Trades of Alberta Charitable Foundation. Last year’s tournament raised $142,895 alone for local organizations in need of funding,” said Building Trades of Alberta Executive Director Terry Parker.
Since 1991, the Building Trades of Alberta Charitable Foundation has provided more than $7.6 million to over 70 non-profit organizations across Alberta.
The tournament is hosted by the Building Trades of Alberta Charitable Foundation in honour of John Tackaberry. John was director of the foundation and worked hard to ensure its success.
“John took great pride in the generosity of skilled tradespeople and the passion they have for helping their communities and others,” said Parker. “We know the contributions of our charitable foundation have helped thousands of Albertans. We’re very proud of that and look forward to helping more folks in communities around the province after tomorrow’s tournament.”
