Re: Public input on Calgary Event Centre

Dear Calgary City Council,

Please consider this letter as a declaration of support from the Building Trades of Alberta for Calgary’s anticipated Event Centre proposed by the City of Calgary, Calgary Sports and Entertainment and the Calgary Stampede.

The construction of Calgary’s Event Centre will create good jobs, help stimulate local and provincial economies and leave the City of Calgary with a centre that will attract sports, entertainment, events and more from around the world.

The Building Trades of Alberta encourages City Council to approve the Event Centre and is enthusiastic to partner with stakeholders to move forward with the project upon its approval.

The BTA is Alberta’s number one resource for skilled construction trades labour.

With 14 affiliate unions whose combined 60,000-plus members work in commercial and industrial construction, we provide the highest skilled and safest construction workforce in Alberta.
