BTA offers members and their families free, immediate and confidential help for any concern through Morneau Shepell

This past year has been a difficult one. We know there are many members within the Building Trades of Alberta’s 18 local unions who have been hit hard by both the COVID-19 pandemic and a sluggish economy.

Whether you’re struggling with mental health, addictions or in other areas, BTA is here to help you start your path to healing.

For the next four weeks, members of any Building Trades of Alberta affiliated local and their families will have free access to the confidential, 24/7 counselling services of Morneau Shepell, a company whose counsellors are trained to listen and offer professional psychological support.

This Member Assistance Program is completely confidential within the limits of the law. No one, including the association, will ever know you have used the service unless you choose to tell them.

Again, there is no cost to use the program. If you need more specialized or longer-term support, your counsellor will help you select an appropriate specialist or service that can provide assistance, which may be covered by your union health and welfare plan.

To access this Member Assistance Program, call toll-free, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week: 1.800.387.4765 with the code BTA2021
